In Sudak, situated a bit farther, we wanted to see the Genoese fortress. The building seems to be literally hanging above the sea – a part of the upper fortifications lies just a few metres from the edge of the cliff! The view from the highest tower is unforgettable – the vast panorama of Sudak on the one side, and Novyi Svet on the other.
We asked for accommodation at a few places – no one wanted to put us up just for one night. Then some lady approached us and said that if we did not mind some renovation works we could stay at her house. We thus spent the night at 79 Biryuzova Street and paid UAH 150 for a double "luxury" room with a bathroom, TV set, and a great bed. There was a pizzeria close at hand.
