During long expeditions (especially when acclimatising to a hot climate), it is good to have a no-cycling day every few days. Your body will regenerate and build up some strength. Otherwise, you may become overtrained, a state which manifests itself in general fatigue and decreased performance. Certainly, the better you are prepared, the less often these breaks have to occur.
